Slate joins the Curinos FinTech Incubator to supercharge offer intelligence in North America
We are one of four startups in the 2026 cohort. The part that matters to us is the data we get to measure our models against.
Offer intelligence,
supercharged
Slate has been named to the 2026 Curinos FinTech Incubator, the program's second cohort. Our slot in it is embedded capital. It is delivered with CoMotion at the University of Washington, with support from Databricks.
Why this program and not another one
Most accelerators offer introductions and a demo day. Curinos offers something we cannot get any other way, which is a view of the market we are pricing against.
Curinos benchmarks financial institutions for a living. They see what small business credit actually looks like across a lot of books at once: what gets approved, at what size, at what price, and what happens to it afterwards. That is the exact thing a young underwriting team cannot see from inside its own data.
What we will do with it
Our models size an offer from what a platform already knows about a business. The models are good at being internally consistent. What we have never been able to answer well is the harder question: is this offer good, or does it only look reasonable next to our own history?
Sitting next to real market benchmarks lets us ask that properly. We can take a cohort we scored, put it beside what the market did with businesses that look the same, and find out where we are generous, where we are tight, and where our read is genuinely better than an application form.
That comparison is the whole point of offer intelligence. An offer is only worth putting inside a platform's product if it is right, and right is a claim you can only make against something.
What does not change
The models still score by product and never by partner, the platform still owns the customer, and we still carry the loss. This is about getting sharper at the one job underneath all of that.
More once we have something worth showing.
