Hanna Zaidi has joined Slate as an advisor.
Hanna is Chief Compliance Officer at Wealthsimple, which means she has done the thing most fintechs learn the hard way: building a compliance function that lets a company move quickly rather than one that exists to say no afterwards.
Compliance is one of the six layers we run so our partners do not have to. Getting it right is not optional for us and it is not a phase we pass through. Having Hanna to argue with about it makes that considerably more likely.
