# Slate
> Slate is embedded capital infrastructure for software platforms in Canada and the United States. A platform offers its customers working capital and credit lines inside its own product, under its own brand, and Slate sizes the offer, puts up the money, runs the servicing and compliance, and carries the loss. Nothing is built, held or underwritten by the platform.
## Product
- [Platform](https://www.tryslatehq.com/platform): APIs, embedded UI, managed compliance, and analytics to build and scale embedded finance.
- [Credit line](https://www.tryslatehq.com/products/credit-line): A revolving or draw facility your customers activate once and draw against. Slate handles underwriting, billing periods, statements and suspension.
- [Capital](https://www.tryslatehq.com/products/capital): Embedded capital: give your customers instant access to funds with fully managed underwriting, compliance and servicing.
- [Accounts and wallets (design beta)](https://www.tryslatehq.com/products/banking): Balances your customers hold, get paid into and spend from inside your product, in design with a small group of platforms.
- [Card issuing (design beta)](https://www.tryslatehq.com/products/cards): Debit and charge cards under your own brand, funded by the credit facility Slate operates, in design with a small group of platforms.
- [How it goes in](https://www.tryslatehq.com/integration): One element carries the whole journey, or build your own experience on the REST API and signed webhooks. Either way Slate carries the underwriting, the money, the compliance and the collections.
- [Your brand, end to end](https://www.tryslatehq.com/connect-domain): Send the lifecycle emails from your own domain so the whole experience reads as yours.
- [Industries](https://www.tryslatehq.com/industries): The verticals Slate writes in, and what the offer looks like in each: marketplaces, payroll, freight, clinics, construction and workforce.
- [Platforms and marketplaces](https://www.tryslatehq.com/industries/marketplaces): Fund the sellers and merchants on your platform off their real trading performance.
- [Payroll and staffing](https://www.tryslatehq.com/industries/payroll): Earned wage access and payroll funding, with Slate carrying the float, the compliance and the collections.
- [Businesses](https://www.tryslatehq.com/solutions/businesses): Offer capital to the businesses on your platform without building or regulating one yourself.
- [Independent workers](https://www.tryslatehq.com/solutions/independent-workers): Responsible access to capital for variable income, with the consumer compliance carried by Slate.
- [Customer emails](https://www.tryslatehq.com/connect-domain): Send the platform lifecycle emails from your own verified sending domain, ten emails under your brand, DKIM signed.
- [Contact](https://www.tryslatehq.com/contact): Talk to a product expert about embedded capital.
## Comparisons
- [Slate vs Parafin](https://www.tryslatehq.com/compare/parafin): Both put capital inside a platform. Slate runs several capital products off one integration, times the offer to the moment your data shows, and shows you the decision behind it. A plain comparison for platforms choosing between them.
- [Slate vs Stripe Capital](https://www.tryslatehq.com/compare/stripe-capital): Stripe Capital is offered to businesses processing on Stripe. Slate sizes offers from the data your own platform holds, whoever processes the payments, and the program runs under your brand. A plain comparison for platforms.
## Integration
Two routes, both carrying the same underwriting, money, compliance and servicing.
**Ready to launch element.** One custom element renders the offer, the application, bank verification, the money and every repayment, and picks its own state:

The token is minted server side, authenticated with `x-api-key` (not a bearer token):
```
POST https://api.tryslatehq.com/user-session-token
headers: { "x-api-key": SLATE_API_KEY }
body: { "externalId": "cus_123" }
-> { "token": "" }
```
**API.** `@tryslatehq/partners-sdk` for a surface you build yourself. `slate.preApprovals.list({ status: "ACTIVE" })` returns who is pre-approved and for how much.
