The failure mode is a page that looks generated. It has three tells, and all three are easy to walk into.
One stroke weight
A heavy outline scaled up by the layout is the loudest thing that reads as a cartoon.
No illustration palette
Drawings use the same greys as the surfaces they sit on. Green appears once, on the thing the section is about.
No characters, no props
We draw the product and the money moving through it. Not people, hands, buildings or mascots.
